Tax-Wise Gifts Through Your IRA

If you are age 70½ or older, you may be eligible to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA to Culture of Life Family Services (COLFS). A QCD allows you to support our life-saving mission while potentially reducing your taxable income. For individuals age 73 and older, a QCD may also satisfy all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

To make a QCD gift:

  1. Discuss with your tax professional to determine if this is a good option for you.
  2. Contact your IRA custodian and request a Qualified Charitable Distribution to Culture of Life Family Services.
  3. Instruct your custodian to send the distribution directly to COLFS.
  4. Please notify our Development Office of your gift so we can properly acknowledge your generosity and ensure your gift is credited according to your wishes.


Gifts-in-Kind

Please contact us before sending gifts-in-kind to our address as there are some items that we are unable to use. We would like an opportunity to advise you of other recipients who might benefit from your generosity.


Baby and Mother Items

Many of our pregnancy clients do not have the money to purchase clothes, diapers, maternity items, blankets, or the basics for a new baby. Please consider donating new items for an expectant mother to show her the support she needs at a time when she may be abandoned by others.
Visit our registry to see what we need most. Donated items may be dropped off at our Escondido location.


Vehicle Donations

Vehicle donation is through Action Donation Services. Donate your car, boat, yacht, truck or RV to COLFS and receive a tax deduction. Email friends@colfs.org for more information.


Privacy

COLFS is committed to our donor’s privacy rights. We guarantee that we will not sell or trade any personal contact information unless expressly directed by the donor.
