Christ: The Source of Our Hope
This Christmas season we remember the true source of our hope, Jesus Christ, who brings the light of life into the world. Let our hearts leap with joy at the coming of the Christ child.
The COVID-19 pandemic reminds us that we must lean forward in faith, despite difficult challenges. Though many businesses and doctors’ offices have closed temporarily or permanently as a result of the shutdown, we have kept our doors open and continue to serve our patients and clients.
The Pandemic Challenge
This has been an extraordinarily challenging time in terms of increased expenses and decreasing revenue. Because of restrictions related to the pandemic, we held our annual Pro-Life is Good Gala virtually. The content of the virtual gala was outstanding and we received many compliments. However, the funds raised were substantially less than our typical in-person galas.
COLFS Continues to Serve Women and Families
While the pandemic has hurt our fundraising, it has not diminished the need of women, preborn babies and families in crisis for our help. In fact, our CEO, Maria Moreno reports that our ministry has been busier than ever during these very stressful times. With all the uncertainty, unemployment and weakening of family and social support systems, women in crisis are feeling increasing pressure from Planned Parenthood and other proponents of abortion. Now, more than ever, these women need us to help them confidently choose life.
